OChena Design FAQs

At OChena Design, I like to talk to people and understand their needs before taking on their projects. Accepting a project depends significantly on the needs of the client, their partners, and their target audience, among other things. I don’t discriminate; I take on all projects, big or small. But, the volume of projects, deadlines, milestones, & payment issues can affect which projects I accept.

It depends on the project goals. For example, if a project needs to be seen in a specific location, the research on that location may take longer. A project that enters my office will be completed. Exceptions can be a client’s unanticipated circumstances that may end the project abruptly.

When finalizing a project, such as a logo, website, or branding, my creative process involves extensive research. I conduct thorough research before starting the project and create a scenario where the project has a distinct personality. The personality of the project is based on the desired end results, the client’s direction, and the research I conduct.
Great. Every project I do at the moment should be my best project.
Success in a project is achieved when both the client and I work together to complete it. It’s difficult to determine whether the logo or website will be the most significant success without putting in the effort. Therefore, completing the project is how I measure its success.
“I have a habit of critiquing various projects that I come across online and then fixing them to make them more relevant to the current times. However, I keep my opinions to myself as I don’t want to upset anyone.”
“I like to estimate the duration of the project and will include a limit for revisions on the invoice. I charge what I deem appropriate, based on my discretion. If we need to make many more revisions, I will inform the client. However, if it’s just one or two small things, it should be okay to make those revisions. I always ensure that my projects are delivered and completed, and I will do my best to get them done to the best of my abilities.”
I work with businesses of all sizes, both locally and nationally, and am committed to getting the job done.
From everywhere. On one occasion, I created a full food menu inspired by a bubble gum wrapper. Another time, I made a business website based on a family photo.

Branding Design

“Branding refers to the process of creating a unique personality, identity, and reputation for a business or organization.”
It depends on the project. A branding project can vary between 3k to 10k, depending on the business/company.
After analyzing each project, I created a contract outlining the timeline. For projects where time is not a factor, I charge accordingly.
Branding is essential for your business to stand out and succeed in this competitive market.

+ Recognition – It is essential for a brand to be easily recognizable by its target audience.

+ Trust – The brand must be trustworthy for clients to work with and use a brand.

+ Uniqueness – A brand should have a unique identity, free of conflicting identities.

+ Strong values – The brand value should be stable, representing the company and serving as a complete identity.

Before deciding to brand your business or company, it is essential to establish a clear identity. Establishing a clear identity includes knowing your company’s values, what it stands for, and what it does. One way to achieve this is by considering your company as an individual with goals, feelings, and empathy. By doing so, you can define your company’s personality and use it to create a brand that resonates with your target audience.
Creating a solid brand identity allows your business to be recognizable and adaptable while maintaining its values.
I work with businesses of all sizes, both locally and nationally, and am committed to getting the job done.
The time required to perfect this project depends on the size of the project. I do not believe in limiting revisions as I take great pride in my work and believe it should be the best it can be. Time over the proposed will always be charge accordingly.
I love discovering brands with unique logos that represent their business well.
It’s the identity of your business; it is what you want your target audience to know about your business.

It depends; the logo is the most critical part of a business. Great logos make it through time. Great logos stand out. Great logos are successful.

I price based on how I feel about the project.
Nothing less than $500

As long as it has to. Logos can take anywhere from three days to three months to create.
A good logo should be recognizable and represent the identity of the business.

○ The first step in designing is conducting thorough research. OChena Design research involves understanding the target audience and where the design will be displayed, among other factors.

○ Follow by sketch > renditions > changes > and then design

○ Once the design is finalized, I will proceed with packaging and send the necessary files to both the printers and clients.

The logo has to be finished before it is packaged. Extra time limitations and revisions will be added to the invoice as needed.
To represent the brand, business, company, startup, or charity.
If you want people to recognize you or your business, yes.

An unattractive logo may not be suitable depending on its intended use, and a redesign may be necessary.

Website Design

As a freelancer, I do create websites for some of my clients. Squarespace or WordPress websites only.
Depending on the website’s size and use, it can cost $700 and up. Plus, there is a yearly subscription with the website builder(Squarespace or WordPress).
Depending on the size of the website, I can give a timeline. A regular showcase website takes about 1 to 3 weeks.
Great. Every project I do at the moment should be my best project.
If your brand, business, company, startup, or charity needs to be online. Then yes.
Yes. I will provide all the credentials for my clients to make changes to the website.
I provide a mockup before the website is up. Once the website mockup is approved, I can start the work and give you an accurate timeline.
If needed, these changes can be made for a fee.
“A website must not only look good but also be functional and make sense in terms of its purpose.”

General

“Design refers to the process of creating professional visual communications.”

As long as it needs to. “I can provide a schedule once I have a clear understanding of the project requirements.”

I do, mainly for fun. But I like designing posters for events. Check out my posters here OChena Design Posters

I determine the pricing based on my experience as a designer, the client’s needs, the target audience, the business requirements, and the project specifications.
I schedule my daily, weekly, and monthly tasks, ensuring I have enough time for each project. I will never take on a project I don’t have time for.
“I am someone who values completing projects. Completing projects means that I will put in my best effort to ensure that projects are finished, even if this means that more revisions or extra time may be required. However, if the number of revisions requested is beyond reasonable limits, I may have to charge extra and will inform my client in advance.”
Just me, Oscar Chena. Sometimes, I subcontract web designers, graphic designers, marketers, and more for specific projects.
From everywhere. On one occasion, I created a full food menu inspired by a bubble gum wrapper. Another time, I made a business website based on a family photo.

Depending on the schedule and milestones, I add the cost of travel to the contract or invoice for out-of-town projects.
